Climate Action Group

Recently a number of commentators have pointed out that most of our leaders and we citizens have acted on the scientific knowledge about coronavirus in order to manage the pandemic crisis and protect as many lives as possible,  however,  some leaders and citizens fail to act properly on the scientific knowledge about the environmental crisis and climate change which is already costing lives.  Theologian, Father Joshtrom  Kureethadam, urges us to heed the warnings of both science and our conscience.  He echoes the scientific knowledge saying: “We are on the brink of an unprecedented challenge regarding the sustainability of our common home, which places a question mark on the future of human civilization”.     And he reminds us of our moral conscience quoting Pope Francis:  “Human beings while capable of the worst are also capable of rising above themselves, choosing again what is good …”      For many people of faith, it’s a matter of conscience to accept and really act on the science of climate change to protect our common home and humanity, God’s creation.
